Physiotherapist

Cowichan District Hospital is a busy acute care hospital that offers a great deal of variety for new grad Physiotherapists as well as those with years of experience. There are many exciting opportunities in the hospital with with our robust team of physicians, outpatient work and in preparation for our new, cutting edge hospital when it's completed in a couple of years. This position will be challenging and have a varied caseload from Orthopedics, Medical, Neurology and Geriatric patients. In addition, we offer a very supportive on-boarding program.

When not at work, the recreation, arts and cultural opportunities are immense in the Cowichan Valley. Cowichan Valley is beautifully situated between two major centers, Victoria and Nanaimo are an hour and a half from Vancouver via ferry. It is truly a wonderful place to for a balanced lifestyle and work.

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator, Therapy Services, or designate, and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Physiotherapist assesses, treats, educates and manages patients/clients receiving physical therapy services.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and Experience

Graduate of a recognized Physiotherapy Program; Knowledge of current Physical Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; Current registration with the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC); Valid British Columbia Driver's license.
